RKY has in place extensive trainings and support structures to insure the adherence to this commitment.  Further, any actions by a staff member that contradict our anti violence and harassment policies (in line with Bill 168 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act) will result in the immediate removal from the work environment and RKY property pending the result a third party investigation.

Qualifications

Qualifications

All applicants must possess

  • Standard First Aid and CPR Level C

  • A clear Vulnerable Sectors criminal reference check

  • Minimum Bronze Cross Lifesaving Society Qualifications

    • All Waterfront Staff have full Lifeguarding Certifications​

We train all applicants for

  • Accessibilities for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Training

  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Certification

  • YMCA Child Protection Training

Various staff also possess additional desired certifications

  • Ontario Recreation Canoeing/Kayaking Certifications

  • Advanced Wilderness First Aid Certifications

  • Challenge Course Facilitation Certifications

  •  Outdoor Council of Canada Certifications
